AH USA Group, Inc. is recalling its TW4115 Black Fungus (Nam Meo) product due to possible contamination. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the California Department of Public Health and is being taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and health of our consumers.

The recalled TW4115 Black Fungus (Nam Meo) product was distributed in the following states: California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Washington, Arizona, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. through small grocery stores. Golden Koi's Black Fungus are distributed by AH USA GROUP INC., this brand of Black fungus has a shelf life best buy date of October 2024. Packaged in a sized container of 2.5 OZ. The item code for this product is TW4115.

To date, there are no reported incidents correlated with Salmonella in this product. However, we have been informed that the state of Pennsylvania collected a sample of the product and found traces of salmonella. According to the testers, three types of salmonella were detected, Salmonella Javiana, Salmonella Mgulani, and Salmonella Weltevreden. All strains of Salmonella can cause similar symptoms, including diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. These symptoms usually develop within 12 to 72 hours after exposure to the bacteria and can last for up to a week. In severe cases, Salmonella infection can lead to dehydration and hospitalization. It is important to practice good food hygiene, such as washing hands and cooking food thoroughly, to reduce the risk of Salmonella infection.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled TW4115 Black Fungus (Nam Meo) product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or to dispose of it immediately. Consumers with questions can contact Phon Quang at (323-721-1205) from 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday.

Eastern Meat Solutions, Inc., the importer of record located in Ontario, Canada, is recalling approximately 40,763 pounds of raw, boneless pork products that were not presented for import reinspection into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The raw, boneless pork products were imported from Canada, and further processed by another company into barbeque pork products. The following products are subject to recall [view labels]:

  • 16-oz. plastic packages containing Park Street Deli “SWEET CHIPOTLE Boneless Pork Ribs with Sauce” with Lot # 3115, Use By 07/08/23; Lot # 3123, Use By 07/17/23; or Lot #3114, Use By 07/08/23 on the packages.
  • 16-oz. plastic packages containing Park Street Deli “HAWAIIAN STYLE Boneless Pork Ribs with Sauce” with Lot # 3115, Use By 07/08/23; Lot # 3123, Use By 07/17/23; or Lot #3114, Use By 07/08/23 on the packages.
  • 16-oz. plastic packages containing “marketside READY TO HEAT BBQ PORK BURNT ENDS” with Lot #3116, Use By 08/29/23; Lot #3117, Use By 08/30/23; or Lot #3122, Use By 09/04/23 on the packages.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 4800” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel who determined that the products were not presented for FSIS import reinspection.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. Mitten Gourmet, LLC, a Freeland, Michigan establishment, is recalling approximately 1,137 pounds of ready-to-eat pork rind products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The pork rind products of various flavors were produced on various dates from September 9, 2021, through May 5, 2023. The following products are subject to recall [view labels]:

  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “PARMESAN GARLIC Pork Rinds” 
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “PIZZA Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “BUFFALO Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “NACHO CHEESE Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “JALAPENO Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “HONEY MUSTARD Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “DILL PICKLE Pork Rinds”
  • 2.0-oz. clear bags containing Mitten Gourmet “BARBECUE Pork Rinds”

The products subject to recall do not bear the USDA mark of inspection because Mitten Gourmet, LLC, is not a federally inspected establishment. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities when the ready-to-eat pork rind products were observed for sale without the USDA mark of inspection. FSIS determined that the producer is not an FSIS-inspected facility.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

Bakkavor USA is issuing a voluntary recall of Trader Joe’s Genova Pesto (SKU# 15759) because the product may contain undeclared milk and walnuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The impacted product has UPC 0015 7353 on the side label and Use By date of 05/27/2023 with a time stamp between 06:28 – 07:07 printed on the bottom of the tub, was distributed to Trader Joe’s stores between 4/28/2023 and 4/30/2023 in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered at a retail store that the Genova Pesto was mistakenly packaged into tubs marked "Hummus Dip”. These tubs do not contain an allergen declaration of milk or walnuts, which are both found in the Genova Pesto.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date, and all potentially impacted product has been removed from sale. An investigation into the root cause of this error is ongoing

.This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers who have purchased or received any donations of Trader Joe’s Genova Pesto and have a milk or walnut allergy are urged not to consume the product and to discard or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund. Rushdi Food Industries an Israeli based manufacturer, is voluntarily recalling their Mighty Sesame 10.9 Oz Organic Tahini (Squeezable) with the specific expiration date of 9/25/23 due to potential Salmonella contamination. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.  In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severs illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

This recall was initiated when the company received a notification by the FDA and the Ohio Department of Health of the potential presence of Salmonella in this specific lot.  The company has received no reports of illness or injury to date.  We immediately informed all Stores who had purchased this product within this lot code about this Recall and instructed them to remove any product which might be on their shelves.

The recalled product was distributed to stores predominately located in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut regions as well as some stores nationwide during the weeks of February 23rd, 2023 through March 5th, 2023.  Based off of sales velocity, there is an extremely low chance that any of the affected product would still be available for retail.  All products other than the ones with the affected Best by Date mentioned in the table are ok to consume.

Consumers who may have purchased this product are advised to discontinue use immediately and discard or return the product for credit or refund. If a consumer experiences the symptoms listed above and believes they may have been exposed to Salmonella, they are urged to report to a medical provider.

Del Maguey Co., New York, NY is conducting a voluntary recall of certain ceramicware cups called copitas - small artisan cups traditionally used for drinking mezcal - because they may exceed FDA guidance levels for leachable lead.

Information on Lead: Lead is a toxic substance present in our environment in small amounts and everyone is exposed to some lead from daily actions such as inhaling dust, eating food, or drinking water. In general, the small exposure to lead within the U.S. population does not pose a significant public health concern. However, exposure to larger amounts of lead can cause lead poisoning. While lead can affect nearly every bodily system, its effects depend upon the amount and duration of lead exposure and age. Exposure to extremely high amounts of lead may result in overt and possibly severe symptoms for which an individual is likely to seek medical attention. However, infants, young children and the developing fetus can be affected by chronic exposure to amounts of lead that may not result in obvious symptoms of lead poisoning.

To date, no complaints of illness or injury related to usage of the copitas have been reported. Del Maguey is conducting a voluntary recall purely as a precautionary measure.

The copitas were distributed free-of-charge to consumers at retail locations, events and tastings across the United States. Copitas were also included in value-added packs (VAPs) sold by retail stores since October 2022; the VAPs included a 750ml bottle of Del Maguey Vida de Muertos mezcal and 4 copitas. This recall covers all copitas distributed by Del Maguey to date.

The cup is made of red clay, with applied enamel on the surface that holds liquid inside. It holds a maximum of 1 oz, and measures 2.5 inches wide and 1 inch in height. The copitas can be identified by the embossed brand name “Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal” which encircles the word “Mexico” located on the inside of the cup. Images of the copitas and the VAPs sold at retail are pictured below.

No Del Maguey spirit products are part of this recall. In particular, the mezcal included in the VAPs has not been exposed to the copitas, is not covered by this recall, and may be consumed. This recall covers only the copitas.

Consumers should not use and should discard the copitas covered by this recall. Del Maguey is working with a new supplier to resolve this issue and produce new copitas. General Mills announced a voluntary national recall of two-, five- and 10-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached and Bleached All Purpose Flour with a “better if used by” date of March 27, 2024, and March 28, 2024. The recall is being issued for the potential presence of Salmonella Infantis,which was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product.

This recall affects two date codes of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour in the five- and ten pound bags and two date codes of Gold Medal Bleached All Purpose Flour in the two- and five-pound bags. All other types of Gold Medal Flour are not affected by this recall.

Consumers are asked to check their pantries and dispose of the product affected by this recall. Consumers who have had to discard products covered by this recall may contact General Mills Consumer Relations at 1-800-230-8103.

Guidance from the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control(CDC) warn that consumers should refrain from consuming any raw products made with flour. Salmonella Infantisis killed by heat through baking, frying, sautéing or boiling products made with flour. All surfaces, hands and utensils should be properly cleaned after contact with flour or dough.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella Infantis, a bacteria, often experience nausea, diarrhea, fever and abdominal pains. The CDC estimates there are 1.2 million cases annually in the U.S. Typically, symptoms start within six hours to six days after infection and last four to seven days. Any consumers concerned about an illness should contact a physician.

GHGA, LLC. is voluntarily recalling 8.55 oz packages of Turkey and Havarti Sandwiches due to undeclared sesame in bread. People who are allergic to sesame run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled product was shipped to Kroger stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina from 01/01/23 to 4/24/23.

The recalled Turkey and Havarti Sandwiches are packaged in 8.55 oz clear plastic clamshells, with UPC 8 2676615584 2, and marked with Sell-by Dates on the front of the packet. All sell-by dates up to and including 4/29/23 are included in this recall. No other products or lots are affected by this recall. Example photos of the recalled product with labels are below.

No reports of illnesses or injury have been received to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered by a GHGA, LLC internal review/audit that sesame in the bread was not declared as an allergen. Sesame was always an ingredient and should have been declared as an allergen starting January 1, 2023 as it was added to the list of the major food allergens.

GHGA, LLC. is urging customers with any sesame concerns or allergies to dispose of the recalled products or return to the store of purchase for a full refund. The products bear establishment number “EST. 20173” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide and exported to Mexico.

The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that they had received multiple consumer complaints regarding bloated soup packages. Upon further review, the establishment found that some product spoiled prematurely. The establishment’s lab testing of the prematurely spoiled products found high levels of spoilage bacteria in the products.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a health care provider.  

Consumption of food contaminated with spoilage organisms can cause illness in immunocompromised individuals.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

American Outdoor Products of Boulder, CO is voluntarily recalling its 4.6 ounce packages of Backpacker’s Pantry Blueberry Peach Crisp because the ingredient statement declares “Almonds”, but the “Contains" statement did not declare “Almond”.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that “Almond” was included in the ingredients list but was not listed in the “Contains” statement.

One illness has been reported in connection with this problem, to date.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers who purchased the affected product and have a sensitivity to almonds should not consume the product and contact American Outdoor Products for product replacement or credit.
