Atlanta, GA - Today, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper announced that the Georgia Wine Producers failed to pass the Georgia Wine Commission’s proposed market order. The failed proposal would have set assessment rates at five cents per liter on retail wine sales and one cent per liter on wholesale sales. Only 39% voted in favor of passage, falling short of the required two-thirds needed for passage. This is the second consecutive year the market order failed to pass.
