Have you ever wanted to learn the art of egg candling? Now is your chance! Join us for a free hands-on class that will teach you everything you need to know about this fascinating process.
What is egg candling?
Egg candling is a method used to grade eggs by examining them under a light source. This technique is an essential skill for poultry enthusiasts, farmers, and anyone looking to sell farm-raised eggs. To obtain an egg candling certification, you must attend a class and pass an examination. The exam evaluates your knowledge and practical skills in identifying grades of edible eggs and determining losses.
After completing the course, demonstrating proficiency in proper egg candling techniques, and passing the exam administered at the conclusion of the class, you will receive your egg candling certification. This certification qualifies you to sell farm-raised eggs at retail to the end consumer directly from your farm, home, or at farmers’ markets. For more details on requirements for becoming a certified egg candler, please see our Egg Candling Certification page.
